Overview

This hoodie design was created as a self-initiated project inspired by "Snowlover," the latest single by the band Unprocessed. The aim was to visually capture the essence of the song by reflecting its lyrics both literally and metaphorically while following current design trends and the bands aesthetic. This wearable art piece serves as a tribute to the song's themes of love, longing, and introspection.

Process

My design approach started with a deep dive into the song’s lyrics and tone, focusing on key phrases and imagery that resonated with the themes of fleeting love and emotional vulnerability. The hoodie features:

Visual Symbolism: The layered textures and close-up fragmented imagery of eyes reflect the narrative of observation, vulnerability, and longing.
Typography: Bold yet distressed fonts emphasize raw emotions, specifically utilizing hard-hitting key parts of the chorus.
Metaphorical Elements: The central heart design conveys love, while the intricate patterns on the sleeves symbolize entanglement and complexity in relationships with the heart and chains.
Color Scheme: A monochrome palette with minimalistic elements evokes a somber and introspective mood, aligning with the song’s tone. The base color being white was chosen to be a literal reference to the song title and a part of the song "…turned my black heart snow white".

I utilized Adobe Photoshop to conceptualize and refine the design and to also mockup the final.
